Support
Baddi is made by one small studio, so support is a person reading an email rather than a ticket queue. Here is what to try first, and what to tell us if that doesn't work.
Baddi is made by Gnarlux
Contact us
Write to hello@gnarlux.com and we will reply. There is no ticket system and no bot in front of it.
If your question is about your Pal, your credits or your account, include your Account ID — open Settings → Account ID and tap it to copy. That identifier is what your save, your wallet and your match history are filed under, and without it we cannot tell your account from anyone else's. It is the single most useful thing you can send us.
Your Pal is missing, or the wrong one came back
Your Pal lives on your phone first, so a reinstall normally starts you over. To get the old one back you need the cloud backup to have been switched on before the phone was lost or wiped, and you need to have linked something to sign back in with.
On a new phone, choose Restore a save when the app first starts, and sign in with the same Apple or Google account you linked. That pulls your Pal, its level and your credits down from the backup.
If the app shows a Verify this device row in Settings, the setup check never finished — usually a flaky connection on first run. Tap it and let it complete, and backups will start working from that point on. Nothing already saved is lost by it.
If you never linked an account, there is genuinely nothing to restore from — the backup is filed under a random identifier that only lived on the old phone. We are not able to look it up, and neither is anyone else.
Credits, Baddi+ and refunds
Purchases are handled entirely by the store you installed Baddi from. We never see your card, your name or your billing address — the store does not give them to us.
If credits you paid for have not appeared, open the store sheet and use Restore purchases. That asks the store to replay its own record of what you bought, and it is safe to press more than once.
Baddi+ is a subscription, which means the store renews it, not us. To cancel, use your subscriptions page in the store you bought it from — cancelling inside our app is not something we can do on your behalf, because we are not the party billing you. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period.
Refunds are the store's to grant, not ours. They are handled under the store's own policy, so a refund request goes there rather than to us. If one is granted we are told about it.
Deleting your account or your data
There are two different things you can delete, and the account deletion page sets out both, along with how to ask us to do it if you no longer have the app installed.
The short version: Delete Account in Settings erases the account and everything filed under it, immediately and permanently. Reset Pal on the row above it starts your Baddi over on that phone and keeps the account — it is not the destructive one.
Nearby Match and Bump Match
Nearby Match asks for your location the first time you search, and only then. If you decline the permission, the rest of the app works exactly the same — you simply cannot search for someone nearby. You can change your mind later in your device's settings for Baddi.
Bump Match connects two phones directly over the local network and never touches our servers. Both players need the app open on the bump screen, and both need to allow the local-network permission. If one phone never sees the other, that permission is the first thing to check — a device that has denied it gives no error, it just never finds anyone.
Steps and your Pal's mood
Your Pal gets happier when you walk, which means the app reads your step count. That needs the motion permission. If you decline it, everything else works and your Pal simply does not gain from walking.
Reporting something broken
Bug reports are genuinely welcome, and the useful ones all carry the same four things:
- What you did, in order, right before it went wrong.
- What you expected, and what happened instead.
- Your device and OS version.
- A screenshot or screen recording, if it is something you can see.
Send it to hello@gnarlux.com. If it is about a specific account, add your Account ID as well.
Privacy and terms
What Baddi stores on your phone, what reaches our servers and how to have it removed is in the Privacy Policy. The agreement you accept by playing, including what credits are and are not, is in the Terms of Service.
Gnarlux is a small studio. Questions that are not about a bug — press, feedback, or anything else — are just as welcome at hello@gnarlux.com.
